This sculpture of Christ rising from the dead is only a few inches shorter than the sculpture of the Crucifixion. This vertical presence gives greater focus to Christ’s resurrection. Christ’s victory over the cross is symbolized with the triumphant figure of Christ rising from a crack in the cross. The cross is sculpted to look like stone representational of the tomb, this also suggests the resurrection of the flesh.
