This masterpiece is on the theme of Jesus being laid in the tomb. The cloaked figures add a somber feeling to the overall design. Mary is also depicted within the sculpture gently holding her Son’s hand as He is gently placed on a slab. The death of Christ is accentuated with His left arm hanging limp and lifeless.
